Family & Friends

In church today we opened our hearts , about how we felt about strong holds in our lives. Sunday school went into the preaching hour, and the whole time of confession came out, and each and everyone shared what was in their heart. Sometimes when people confess their faults or troubles in their lives , it seems like a load is lifted right off their shoulders. So the acid indigestion ceases after a whole night of none sleep. But the Lord says the truth will set you free, when Dr. King told the nation his I had a dream speech. I was just a young boy when he said his speech but it stuck. You know he was right about a lot of things, and he has affected today's world in a most wonderful way. How about that, New Orleans football team, they won again. They seem to pull it out in every different way they can. They stay focused on their objective, and that is a winner attitude, and everyone should think that way, and if we did theywould be a lot of succeeding going on instead of more failures than anything.

On the way to Christmas

I was reflecting on the scriptures we have been studying on Monday nights. A lot of people think that Mark and Luke were Disciples, because they wrote a gospel. Mark by what the commentaries say, that he was a young boy at the time of Jesus. But there seemed to be a lot of functions held in his mothers house. They also seemed to be a wealthy family for that time. So I believe that Mark was converted to Christianity as a young child. Luke as we know went around asking questions of a lot of people, and writing what he was told by the Disciples and other people. He followed Jesus with blind faith, because he came along after Jesus death. Also he was a well educated man for that time in history. I just thought I would share these facts with you. Now that I finally had time to just sit down and relax, read some on a book I'm reading, " Living With Confidence In A Chaotic World " by Dr. David Jeremiah I would recommend this book to read, and "What In The World Is Going On, " Two great reads! My son is playing some crazy game on his PS3 about some digging machine, it looks like a Squid digging and blowing up everything. I look up and boy am I confused ??? Well it's not for me. Christmas is less than a month away so brush off your plastic and get out the green, because you are about to go into debt for another three years just for this Christmas. Wasn't it much easier when we worshiped Jesus birth and let the Wise men bring the gifts instead of everything getting so commercial.

Wedding

The wedding went off without a hitch. My wife sang a beautiful song for the Bride to come down the aisle, to stand before me, my son was the photographer and the DJ for the reception. The temperature was a calm 62 degrees until it turned dark then the coats came out. The temp. started dropping down to 46 degrees. For us that is cold weather because we are use to the 80's to 90's with lows at night in the 70's. Needless to say it was another long day for us, but they are a wonderful couple, she was so beautiful in her dress,and him in a white tux. They seem to be made for each other, after everything ended at 6:00pm, we headed off to Capt. Dees for supper and then home to relax before church tomorrow. So everyone have a wonderful Sunday and hopeing you will keep Christ at the forefront

Day after Thanksgiving

For all of you Grandfathers , Grandmothers, Moms, Dads or those who cooked, cleaned, ran after children of all ages. I salute you and pray for you folks. My wife and I slept the whole day, we woke up at 6:30 pm Friday well some may agree " Great day, " but hard day after you reach a certain age. Not eating all day good for the diet, need to walk anyway. My Son Sam received a griddle and spatula for the grill egg type and pancake type also $ 100.00 for his pleasure so this morning he at 4 am he was up and gone to Sears. Well we are studding for the wedding I will officiate, Cindy is singing , Sam is camera and DJ. Say good luck to Ashley and Eric, they are partying tonight can't wait to see them Saturday.

Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving at our house today for the first time in five years, there was twelve people there. My son is a Chef I don't know if I told you that before, but between him and his mother everything was handled. Um' Um' good. Then came the Pumpkin & Pecan pies and Sponge cake, again Um' Um' delicious, we had video conferencing on Skype with our older married children in Charleston, Carolina. But I didn't glutton I ate a reasonable amount for being on a thousand calorie diet, so I wasn't full to being miserable " Just content "

Missionary

Today I was talking with a missionary friend of mine, his name is Chuck Martindale he is the Director of Truth Evangelistic Ministry, Inc. 1945 Patrician Way Ft. Walton Beach, Fl. 32547. They go to Haiti and India. The Ministry they have is a great one, and with all the folks they help and the expenses that they incur while they prepare to send a team over there is astronomical. Remember that every dollar that you donate to them is $ 7.00 to our one. So have a giving spirit this year to this mission. I see how its done

I was sitting with my wife today at the house. We were discussing what to cook for Thanksgiving, it is also my son's birthday, my mother in laws birthday is the 29th, so everything is celebrated while we come together for family gathering. This year it is at our house because we finally have a big enough place to have it now. We lived in a 40ft RV for three years, so now we have a wonderful place that the Lord has provided for us. We Praise His Holy Name. We also have a prayer list if you want or need prayer. Here at home or at our church Green Acres Baptist Church.

Getting caught up on facebook games

When I first started with face-book, everything was so easy after you learned to navigate on the first page you start out with: then came the gift pages !

Well, needless to say", I went into the gaming mode on face book (I only play Farm-ville now) after one request after another was showing up for me to join, and I joined.. So, I started taking away from my studies in the scriptures, commentaries, dictionaries, and other books and magazines. As you probably know, if you do public speaking or any type of communication work, it takes time to prepare. Suddenly the phone rang and a deacon in the church needed counseling. Needless to say, God showed up and pointed me back in the right direction! After speaking the the deacon and praying with him, I went back to my studies and was led by an unseen hand to 2Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved, unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth". and that led me to Ephesians 6:15, "And shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace." I got the message!!

Question

If God has always been! And he had no beginning and no ending , He is the first and last, no mother and no father. But there is the Father ,Son, and the Holy Spirit and they said let us create man in our own image. Even in the word of God in John 1:1 in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Well the question posed to me was. Who created God since he or they didn't start from a one cell organism? The answer is no one created God! He is our God and I don't care where he or they came from. We look to him for our salvation, He dose not look to us for his.

Why shouldn't you feel good about God?

Well you know our church views and I figured that people disalousioned with church would comment on what happened to them that they are not attending a church. Because a Christian accused you of something in your life. Because of the same thing in their life, or their actions were not above board or they were very pious about people. Well remember Christians aren't always correct,( The Bible is ). Not people.

Theology

I am Pastor Perry Jordan from Green Acres Baptist Church. We believe in the full gifts of the Spirit, but everything has to be in context, we do not believe in taking one verse here or there and basing or whole existence on them.
We study every chapter to find out who, what, when , where and how about the Scriptures.
